GET IN THE CAR!

They called us The Secret Seven. So secret, we didn’t know who the other six were. But we were comin’.

I’m Tim “Murph the Surf” Murphy. I wasn’t a Godfather. I wasn’t a Made Man. I was “The Kid.”

I was the one in the corner, keeping my mouth shut. I was the one driving the 19-foot 1970 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham (“Lucerne Aqua Fire Mist”) ferrying the last of the Rust Belt gangsters across state lines.

From the pool halls of Erie, Pennsylvania (the “neutral zone” between the Cleveland and Buffalo mobs) to the maximum-security cages of Attica, I lived a life most people only see in the movies.

I learned from the masters. I ran with Jimmy “JR” Russell, the man who spent 27 years in prison because he wouldn’t rat. I stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Ray Ferritto, the hitman who killed Danny Greene and brought down the Cleveland Mob.

We had a rule:

“If we want you, we’ll make it look so good you’ll think it’s an accident… while it’s happening.”

THE STAKES ON THE TABLE

But you break the rules, the rules break you.

The high life has a price tag. Mine was paid in Wende Correctional Facility, classification 85C0177. It was paid when I faced down “The Big Bitch”… 25 years to Life. It was paid on the Ides of March1985, when a letter arrived in my cell telling me that my angel, Mary Ellen DeSantis, was dead. And there wasn’t a damn thing I could do about it.

I hit the bottom. I screamed at God. I wanted to serve Satan.

But I didn’t die. I did 1,500 pushups a day. I survived the “hell hole” of the Erie County Holding Center. I walked out of the fire.

THE ROAD TO REDEMPTION

This isn’t just a crime story. It’s a survival story.

I took the mechanical genius that made me a master safecracker and turned it into a 35-year career as a Control Systems Engineer. I went from “The One Man Crime Spree” to the man the corporations called when everything broke down.

My reputation changed from “Armed and Dangerous” to:

“If Murphy can’t fix it, we’re all in trouble.”

Buckle Up. This is the true story of the hustlers, the thieves, the tragedies, and the redemption of the Last Goodfellas.
